The job of a librarian is ever-changing. Since the Ancient Library of Alexandria, librarians have been the keepers of knowledge, sources of information, and preservers of history. Today, those roles are still in place, but they look vastly different than they once did. Librarians don't need to know everything, we just need to know how to find information on all topics that our patrons bring to us. We must be up-to-date on the latest technologies to help our patrons with every need. In order to stay current in our jobs, librarians must be actively involved in library organizations or networking groups to stay informed.
